Co-founders Taira and Ken started In Place to share their life-long commitment to supporting others in reawakening our intrinsic belonging to the web of relations that make up our earthly existence. For them, much of what ails us in today’s world comes from a deep loss of connection and belonging. Relationships, connection, belonging with our earthly home must become our priorities if we are to heal and flourish as people/planet. 

Taira and Ken have decades of facilitating nature connecting through the arts beginning with their work with Anna Halprin and the Tamalpa Institute in the early1980’s. Since the mid-1990’s, they have woven their lives as part of the Tomales Bay Watershed. In 2023, they launched In Place to share the fruits of this collaboration and partnership with each other and their beloved home place.
